Unoccupied Property

We offer a straightforward, yet comprehensive Unoccupied Property Insurance cover for solicitors, probates, executors, and power of attorneys.

Unoccupied property is a a non-standard insurance risk due to the property not being in regular use for a variety of reasons and we are confident in our ability to provide cover for your circumstances.

Once insurers are aware that a property is unoccupied, cover is often cancelled or reduced to FLEA perils: Fire, Lightning, Earthquake, and Aircraft. Alternatively, for Unoccupied Property Insurance, many insurers require lots of intricate details that may not readily be available.

Plester Group have negotiated a much simpler insurance policy that does not compromise quality or level of cover. With only four pieces of information required: postcode, year of construction, number of bedrooms and property type, every UK residential unoccupied property, with seven or less bedrooms, qualifies for our policy.

Cover is included for both Buildings and Contents, as well as the following perils: fire, lightning, earthquake, explosion, storm, flood, weight of snow, escape of water and oil, theft, riot, malicious damage, terrorism, collision by aircraft or vehicles, falling trees and lampposts, collapse of satellite, and landslide, subsidence or heave.

This flexible cover can be arranged on a 3, 6, 9 or 12 month basis and must be cancelled once probate is granted. Should you require additional cover, a member of the team can accommodate for your requirements.

As well as providing Unoccupied Property Insurance for solicitors, we can also help if you are an individual with an unoccupied property. This may be as a result of renovations, awaiting sale, death, hospitalisation or the occupier going into a care home.

In the event of needing to make a claim, you will find our in-house claims team helpful, honest and knowledgeable.
